Shaoguan Tea Varieties — From Ancient Trees to National Cultivars

Shaoguan is home to a rich diversity of tea varieties, including two nationally recognized cultivars: Renhua Baimao Tea and Lechang Baimao Tea. The region also preserves over 65,000 ancient tea trees (the largest population in Guangdong), some more than 800 years old. These varieties are processed into all six tea categories – green, black, white, oolong, yellow, and dark tea.
