Wengyuan (翁源县) is a county in eastern [Shaoguan](https://shaoguantea.com/glossary/shaoguan/), located in the Lianhua Mountain foothills. It is one of the only regions outside Zhejiang to successfully produce Longjing-style flat pan-fired green tea, adapted to local cultivars and climate.
Wengyuan Longjing is known for its distinctive chestnut aroma, achieved through traditional pan-firing techniques. The county also has a large organic tea base (over 10,000 mu), with many farms certified organic and exporting to Europe and North America.
