Impression Luokeng Tea (印象罗坑茶) is a premium spring-picked wild ancient tree black tea from the high mountains of Luokeng, Qujiang, Shaoguan. Sourced from ancient tea trees growing at elevations above 800 meters, these trees — known locally as “qingcha” (青茶) — are medium-to-large leaf varietals that thrive in the rocky mountain terrain of Luokeng Nature Reserve.
Harvested in spring from ancient trees up to a thousand years old, this black tea embodies the wild essence of Luokeng’s pristine ecosystem. The rocky mineral-rich soil imparts a distinctive “rock rhyme” (岩韵) character that sets it apart from lowland teas.
Tasting Notes:
- Aroma: Honey-sweet with floral undertones (honey-scented and orchid-like)
- Liquor: Brilliant golden-yellow, clear and bright
- Flavor: Rich, smooth, and sweet with a distinctive mineral character and lingering sweetness
- Leaf: Dark, tightly twisted, lustrous black strips
Exceptionally耐冲泡 (infusion-resistant) — remains flavorful for over 10 infusions. Each successive brew reveals new layers of honey sweetness and floral complexity.
Part of the Yuntianshe (源山源) collection from Luokeng, where traditional craftsmanship meets the wild character of ancient trees.
