Renhua (仁化) is a county in northeastern [Shaoguan](https://shaoguantea.com/glossary/shaoguan/), Guangdong, bordering Hunan Province. It is a designated Protected Geographical Indication (GI) region for tea production. Renhua’s tea tradition dates back centuries, with the county known for its high-quality white tea and green tea production. The terroir features red sandstone and yellow soil at elevations of 300–800 meters, with a mild subtropical climate influenced by the Nanling mountain range. The county includes both the Danxiashan UNESCO Geopark and other tea-growing areas such as Hongshan and Changjiang. Renhua teas are characterized by their clean, fresh flavors and are increasingly sought after by connoisseurs. The region is undergoing a revival, with modern processing facilities complementing traditional craftsmanship.
