Lechang

Terroir & Geography

[Lechang](https://shaoguantea.com/glossary/lechang/) (乐昌) is a county-level city in northern [Shaoguan](https://shaoguantea.com/glossary/shaoguan/), Guangdong. Located in the upper reaches of the Beijiang River system, Lechang’s mountainous terrain and subtropical climate create favorable conditions for tea cultivation.

The region is known for Baili tea (白毛茶), a local specialty with white downy buds. While less prominent than [Luokeng](https://shaoguantea.com/glossary/luokeng/) in terms of ancient tree density, Lechang contributes to Shaoguan’s diverse tea landscape.
