This Legend-grade wild ancient tree black tea is crafted by Monkey-Picked Red (η΄ιηΊ’), a premium tea producer from the Luokeng National Nature Reserve in Shaoguan. Named for the century-old legend of a magical monkey picking tea leaves from the cliffs of Houzhaifeng, this tea embodies the wild spirit of the Luokeng mountains.
The leaves are hand-harvested from ancient wild tea trees growing above 1,000 meters on peaks including Houzhaifeng, Jianggongshan, and Meihuading. The unique terroir β pristine forest ecosystems, mineral-rich soil, and mountain mists β imparts a one-of-a-kind Peach (θ ζ‘) almond aroma that is both elegant and captivating. Often called “a peerless treasure of the tea world,” this is the flagship tea of Monkey-Picked Red.
Crafted using traditional Luokeng tea-making techniques passed down through generations, the tea delivers a smooth, full-bodied cup with a distinctive almond fragrance and a lingering sweet finish. The dry leaves are dark, tightly twisted, and lustrous. The brewed liquor is bright amber-red and crystal clear.
